Alice from American McGee’s Alice

This game is awesome, I’d been planning to do Alice for a while but kept pushing it off. The first year I went to Dragon*Con, I decided to finally make it. I also made a blunderbuss to go with it, but it broke on the way back from Atlanta so I only have one picture of it. Tsk tsk.
Construction. There’s a McCall’s costumes pattern that has an Alice in Wonderland dress in it. I forget what number it is, but used that to make this costume. I drafted the pattern for the apron myself, it attaches to the back of the dress with velcro, and the bow closes in the back with hook and eye closures. The skull I plucked off of a Halloween decoration. The boots I already had. When I wore this at Dragon*Con that first year I wore a wig with it, but I look really awful with red hair because it clashes with my skin tone, so for my photoshoot at AnimeBoston I just used my real hair.
